Since the introduction of the Freeze-Framer, we've been hearing
stories about how you use and benefit from it. We've created this site so
you can share your story with people from all around the world.

I see a range of
children and adolescents with a variety chronic illnesses, chronic
pains, and psychophysiological problems. This includes cancer,
asthma, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, sleep
disorders, depression, anxiety, tourette's, as well as kids who need
stress management or anger management help. Not long ago, I learned
of HeartMath's Freeze-Framer software program and I have integrated
it into my work with my patients to teach them self-regulation
skills as a part of an overall package to optimize health and
well-being and address the mind/body/spirit unity. I use the
Freeze-Framer routinely to help kids to get into the optimal "zone"
of ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) and emotional "balance."
My
intention is to help my young patients develop a strong sense of
self-efficacy with regard to participation in, and control of their
own health. I want to help them identify and address the myriad
stress issues they face and to develop positive and effective ways
to cope. I really like the fact that the Freeze-Framer is a good
non-pharmacologic option. My patients are experiencing very good
results and the kids really enjoy the game formats as a way to
practice their new found skills.

HeartMath tools are a do-it-yourself kit for
learning how to step back for just a moment so you can shift out of
a problem, out of your work or whatever is occupying your attention,
and look around at the wonderful things that are going on around
you.
For so long we've been acting from our brains and we
have kind of learned to ignore the heart, and yet our hearts can
have a profound influence on our health and happiness.
As a
certified HeartMath trainer I've brought HeartMath in for my staff,
administrators and for my patients at our hospital. Specific health
problems such as hypertension and arrhythmias have improved.
Communication and creativity among staff members has taken a quantum
leap. They've noticed a completely different way of looking at
problems and interacting with those around them.
For me
personally, HeartMath tools and the Freeze-Framer have helped me to
achieve a different state of mind and state of heart. My daughter
who uses the Freeze-Framer software says the tools help our family
fly through life.

For me using the Freeze-Framer has been a
very empowering experience. The fact that you can learn a tool to
help you to shift from a stressful emotion in a minutes time is
remarkable. As a psychologist it's a great educational tool. I get
objective evidence and clinical information for a patient and
visually work with them on their ability to manage stress. This is
an incredibly valuable tool for both myself and my patients.

I'm the team
leader for the cardiac rehabilitation unit at the hospital where I
work. My job can be very challenging and hectic at times. I've been
using HeartMath techniques for a little over a year and most
recently I started using HeartMath's Freeze-Framer software program.
The HeartMath tools have made a big difference in my own
self-awareness. I often use the Freeze-Framer in the morning at
home. I use one of the shorter games as a way to get balanced and
prepare for my day. At work I treat myself to a short break as
needed, especially when I find myself feeling overwhelmed.
A
year ago I wouldn't have made it a priority to stop and take a time
out, but HeartMath tools have helped me realize that I am more
effective on the job when I'm in balance. I've learned from
practicing HeartMath tools to communicate better. I'm the kind of
person that always tried to do everything myself instead of asking
for help. This was draining me emotionally and keeping me in an
overwhelmed mode. With these tools I've learned to recognize that
personal balance is key to personal effectiveness. Now, I don't
hesitate getting the help I need to get the job done without putting
my personal balance at stake. Our hospital has adopted the HeartMath
programs and I am now certified to teach HeartMath to our staff.
We've also recently purchased several Freeze-Framer programs for the
staff to use to help support their practices of the HeartMath tools.
HeartMath isn't about being perfect and never having stress; it's
about increasing the ratios of balance and self-care and having more
poise in the midst of what could be hectic.

It's been
largely because of using the Freeze-Frame technique and technology
that I have been able to accomplish all I'm doing. During my
championship season, it was essential to relax when I needed to, and
handle the stress associated with competing and frequent travel to
tournaments. Add to this the need to overcome set-backs from
injuries and keeping the edge needed to fight in the younger
category I competed in. In addition to winning the world
championship, I wrote a book, and I used the Freeze-Frame technique
to spark creativity and stay focused on the project."
I
recommend the Freeze-Frame tool to all my students and in my book,
Six Steps to the Fountain of Youth, as well as in the manual
for the first tai chi certification course in the U.S., produced by
my company Tai Chi USA in conjunction with International Fitness
Professionals Association.

The HeartMath
Freeze-Frame technique has been demonstrated to provide powerful
stress reduction benefits in carefully designed scientific studies
that are supported by a documented reduction in damaging stress
hormones. It is based on achieving mind-heart coherence through
novel technology that promotes entrainment. Treatment is
non-invasive, completely safe, can provide numerous other health
rewards and the technique is easily mastered. More importantly it
vividly demonstrates the vast potential for self-healing that
resides in all of us.

There is a subset of HeartMath's research
that leads me to conclude that Freeze-Frame could very well be the
long sought cure for golf's neurological disaster known as THE
YIPS the involuntary neurological twitching that retired the likes
of Ben Hogan and Johnny Miller prematurely.
Freeze-Frame lets you
call a mental time-out to quickly access a clearer perspective on
what's happening in the moment. By helping you align your head and
heart, it gives you access to your gut instinct.
Some
athletes use yoga and meditation to calm the mind and regain poise
and balance internally, however if you're in the middle of a golf
game this isn't so practical which is what sets Freeze-Frame apart
from other exercises. I know it works in golf. I have personal
experience with it.

I did the
HeartMath certification program to be able to provide a powerful
tool to my clients. It has proven to be just that. The most
interesting application, however, has been during my recently
completed 2167 mile hike of the Appalachian Trail. There were times
when I was feeling stressed or overwhelmed. For example, when I woke
up to rain for the fourth or fifth morning in a row and my boots,
socks, and clothes were still soaked from the day before, I used
Freeze-Frame or simply brought my energy to my heart. The strategy
always helped me settle down and get back into the heart-set of what
a grand and glorious adventure I was experiencing.
