Key Courses and tools in
Resilience, and Stress Management using Inner Quality Management® and
HeartMath®
Based on more than a
decade of research and experience in human performance, biomedical and
social-science research HeartMath® programs have earned a unique position
globally in the training and consulting fields. HeartMath LLC (USA), and
The Institute of HeartMath (USA) have developed innovative approaches
and tools to facilitate higher levels of performance. Through our association
with them we offer their full range of training programs, coaching programs,
interactive learning systems and assessment services.
In case studies across UK, Europe And North America involving organisations
such as Royal Dutch Shell (Oil), Motorola, and Hewlett-Packard
to name a few, profound and sustainable shifts have occurred in workplace
effectiveness and organisational health. Bruce Cryer President of HeartMath
and the co-author of From Chaos to Coherence says, "Our research indicates
that the next level in human efficiency and productivity will come through
learning about the inner environment of technology of one's own system,
a process we call Inner Quality Management® (IQM®)."
HeartMath programs like the IQM, are based on the Institute of HeartMath's
published research which has appeared in peer review journals such as
the Integrative and Behavioural Science, American Journal of Cardiology
and Stress Medicine.
Client case studies have shown that teams who learned and practiced HeartMath
methods for reducing the mental and emotional stress experienced more
physical energy, mental clarity, they felt happier and more peaceful.
They also experienced less depression, anxiety and anger, as well as less
fatigue, sleeplessness, tension, body aches and indigestion.
More Effective Approaches
to Workplace Challenges
Many approaches, such
as standard motivational programs, exercise and fitness programs, and
time management techniques, have been implemented over the past fifteen
years to help people cope with increased challenges and pressures in the
workplace. Although there have been some benefits realised from these
programs, most have not resulted in the desired outcomes, and the level
of stress experienced by workers has continued to rise. The proportion
of workers who reported feeling “highly stressed” more than doubled from
1985 to 2000.
While most of the adult
population reports experiencing personal or emotional problems in the
course of a year, about 50% of these people say that they are unable to
solve their problems and about one third state that they are unable to
do anything to make their problems more bearable. While situations, encounters
or events may seem intrinsically "stressful," it is truly how an individual
perceives and reacts to an event that determines whether or not the stress
response is activated. The main limitation of most stress-reduction approaches
now in use is that while helpful, they do not target the real source of
people's stress, enabling them to transform their perceptions and reactions
to potentially “stressful” situations in the moment they occur.
HeartMath techniques can be used to transform the physical, mental and
emotional effects of stress in the moment in which they occur.
Optimal conditions for high performance are re-established. HeartMath
tools also clear the way for new learning and new initiatives. They assist
with balance and coping with workplace challenges and help to allow new
higher levels of performance and creativity to arise.
Leadership
What do /Directors/ senior
Management/ Owners/ Shareholders want to ultimately achieve? What is the
vision of the business/ department?
Does the Corporate vision support the present business environment? Does
it also lead toward an optimum business culture? Our globally-recognised
leadership programs assist in raising the view and vantage point and enable
new levels of performance.
Audit /Assessment Tools
We offer advanced assessment
tools for a range of valuable functions within the organisation. We offer
psychometric assessments as well as a unique range of physiological assessments
designed to screen and qualify those at some higher risk of health-challenges.
Our assessment technology spans the spectrum from recruiting through to
the sales and marketing function and includes personal and organisational
measures, either anonymously or peer-reviewed. We are able to provide
a full turn-key assessment system which if desired can be web-enabled
and automated to allow national or global roll-out and data-retrieval.
The psychometric assessments are designed to be quick to complete, thus
gaining support from all concerned. Priceless data and analyses can be
gained in very short time periods.
Our confidential needs analysis can be used for a variety of purposes,
from developing a new corporate or departmental vision, identifying and
providing solutions to current issues, developing a project plan, or the
impact of a new marketing initiative. We offer a totally flexible yet
powerful service.
At the end of the process a report of all discussions, ideas, issues and
thoughts is compiled and presented. This report can then be used in subsequent
follow up meetings to continue the change and development process.
One-on-One Executive Coaching
There are many definitions
of Executive Coaching. Essentially Executive Coaching is a highly personalised
and effective form of learning. It involves understanding and capitalising
on an individual’s strengths as well as recognising and reconciling and
overcoming his or her weaknesses.
An Executive coach can be a catalyst for enhancing performance. A coach
stimulates and challenges the individual to adopt new strategies and behaviours
to cope with new demands. Major classes in Executive coaching include:
1. Coaching for skills
2. Coaching for performance
3. Coaching for development
4. Coaching for time management & stress
5. Coaching for managing/resolving conflict in the workplace
6. Coaching for the Executive’s own nominated area.
Our coaches and consultants provide guidance to help the individual and
the organisation fulfill their goals and vision by working with your key
executives to define their most critical requirements currently facing them.
1. Management meeting
2. Initial individual meeting with the selected executive
3. First coaching session
4. Second coaching session
5. Third, Fourth and Fifth coaching sessions
6. Management feedback

Clients: What do they say
about our programs
In an interview with the
Sunday Times of London, Dr. Graham Bridgewood, Chief Health Adviser
for Royal Dutch Shell, commented about the HeartMath IQM program.
"The background physiology and the science underpinning this technique
are absolutely sound, which is why we went ahead with pilot studies at
Shell. I don't think the science is new, but getting it to work with individuals,
and particularly with technical people, is."
Carol Mortimer, Director of Health Care with Hewlett-Packard in
the UK told the Sunday Times that the IQM program and techniques made
an amazing difference to team morale. Before the program, 46% said they
often felt exhausted. After the training, this figure fell to 9%!
A California state agency pilot project involving 161 staff revealed
that after the HeartMath training there was a 75% (from 12% - 3%) decrease
in the number of people reporting feelings of depression often or most
of the time. Before the program, 48% of the participants reported they
feel energetic often or most of the time. After the HeartMath program
that number jumped to 61%.
A study at Motorola also showed significant and beneficial shifts
in the participants. Before the HeartMath program 25% of the study participants
had high blood pressure levels. After only six months of using HeartMath
techniques they all had normal blood-pressure levels, and no conventional
medical interventions had been used.
Diane Ball, RN, BS, MSEd, team leader of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
at Delnor-Community Hospital, in Geneva, III. Ball learned the
concept at a weekend seminar and through reading HeartMath's books. Now,
she's teaching her colleagues and patients the same concept, which is
studied by affiliated research-dedicated Institute of HeartMath. Currently,
Delnor is rolling out the program to patients and staff. The staff really
appreciates that the hospital cares about them," said Ball. "The hospital
gives them a whole day paid to learn the techniques. The software is just
there as a reinforcement”
