Article: How Our Busy Lifestyles Are Making Us Sick

The Sunday Telegraph (Sydney), Mar 24, 2002
by Bronwyn Allen

A new study has found that the hectic pace of modern life is having an adverse effect on the health of Australians. RP Scherer, a pharmaceutical group, has surveyed 700 people and found that 44 per cent experienced tiredness and lack of energy. In addition, 52 per cent had suffered from colds and influenza, while 31 per cent reported symptoms of stress. The health problems experienced by Australians have been attributed to factors such as longer working days, lack of sleep and poor eating habits. Aloysa Hourigan, of Nutrition Australia, says that a balanced diet is essential for warding off illnesses.
